This card is kind of unusual for me, since I don't typically go this dimensional. My inspiration for the design came from this card I found on Pinterest. I figured this would be great for a teenager. I plan to send this to Send a Smile 4 Kids.
I already had the shoes stamped onto bristol paper, so I colored them purple with my Tombow markers, to go with the color scheme in the challenge. I fussy cut them out, added foam tape to the backs, and adhered crochet twine behind them for "shoelaces" to hang them.
I wanted to add interest to my background, so I stenciled with Brushed Corduroy & the "Stars" stencil. I made the stenciling kind of messy, to go with the look of the card.
I found burgundy & dark green patterned papers in my scrap stash. I die cut along one edge of each with the "Notebook Die" and trimmed them down to 2x3". I added ATG to the back of the burgundy and stuck it to the green. I added foam tape to the back of the now-grouped papers. I arranged my twine, added the clip, and adhered it to my card front. I added a bit of liquid glue behind the clip, just to keep it in place.
I die cut a "U" from a scrap of purple patterned paper. I stamped "rock" repeatedly on a scrap of white cardstock with Elderberry ink, leaving space at one end for the "U" to go. I glued most of the strip to my panel, wove the left end through the "U," and glued that end & the letter down. Finally, I adhered my panel to a white card base. I ended up with just over 3 minutes to spare of my hour limit.
