This summer card was made to reflect on the wonderful relaxing days we spent at Mrytle Beach with my parents. I chose colors that reminded me of the ocean and sunsets. I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesdays sketch challenge. The light blue panel was embossed with a Stampin' Up! (SU) embossing folder to give it a feel of rippling waves on the ocean.
The center image is a 2003 retired SU image from their "Sketches" stamp set. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then hand colored using Copic markers. I rounded two opposite corners to give the card a less angular feel (more flowing like ocean waves breaking on the shore).
The shell embellishment was chosen to replicate the shell the lady is holding in her left hand in the stamped image. It was printed from a digital file, hand colored, then cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut CM350. I used Glossy Accents to cover the shell to give it a glossy finish. Both the center image panel and the shell were mounted on the card front using adhesive foam strips.
This card would be good to send a friend to tell her you are thinking of her.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". It is easy to color, and doesn't require a lot of crafting materials to create.
