It's Teapot Tueday and this week our cards are going to Buckeye, Arizona. All the deatils for our Teaparty can be found here .
We are back from our holiday, had a brilliant time, but on the downside my mojo decided to stay up north! When I get stuck for inspiration, I choose a couple of cards from my gallery and sort of blend them together. This is the result.
Three distress inks have been used on the background - wild honey, seedless preserves and walnut stain. I smacked the wild honey ink onto a sheet of aluminium foil, squirted on a lot of water and applied the inky water to the cardstock using a foam blending tool.
The process was repeated using Seedless Preserves distress ink. When the yellow and purple inks were almost dry, I used walnut stain distress ink to stamp on the the background foliage.
When everything was completely dry, I decided what area to leave bright, then used a walnut stain foam blending tool (no added water) on the areas I didn't want to highlight.
To create the bird on the branch, I covered a scrap of cardstock with metal roofing tape, then ran it through a die cutting machine. Copic markers were used to colour the bird and branch.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in and send gentle thoughts to Bob and Tracy during this difficult time.

Your background are always so craftily interesting. Love the gold speckles to coordinate with your lovely golden bird and branch! Great stitched scallop framing! So pretty, Susie!

Gorgeous, of course. So nice to have you back, Susie. Your card is stunning with the bird on the branch, and whether it's sunrise or sunset, the result is fab.

Isn't a bird on a branch so soothing? Doesn't look to me like your mojo stayed on vacation, Susie. This is gorgeous! I love the metallic bird and branch and all the inky depth in your background.
