Anita is our hostess for Teapot Tuesday this week - her challenge is HERE. This week we are sending our cards to the mother of a work colleague of Jacqueline's, to brighten her days with some happy mail.
Carleta is fond of hummingbirds and absolutely adores her toy poodle, Lily. She also likes chocolate, flowers, red, blue, and Bible/spiritual verses.
Well, I have a hummingbird, red flowers and a Scripture verse, so I don't think I did too badly.
Stamped and coloured the fuchsia, using Couleur d'Art pencils. Then sponged over with antique linen and vintage photo distress, and stencilled (SU mask) with peeled paint. Edged with Stickles and added Liquid Pearls to the stamens. Sentiment stamped on white card and sponged while in the die , then stamped an edging with the leafy stamp from Vintage Vogue. The hummingbird ( stamped and heat-embossed on watercolour paper and coloured with Twinkling H2Os) is popped up on foam.
Anita's bonus challenge was to spell POWER -
P ~ pencils (and pink), popped-up, Psalm, and actually, I think I have some Perfect Pearls in there too on the hummer,
O ~ oval
W ~ watercolours
E ~ embossing (heat)
R ~ red for the fuchsia, and resist (embossing resist with the watercolours)

Lovely! The hummer is wonderful, and the plant matches the one my DIL gave me for Mother's Day. Aren't fuschias beautiful!

What a beautiful scene, Sabrina! We had a lot of fuschias in CA but they don’t grow here due to the humidity. But we do have hummers, and I am sure they need more food. We have been very hot and humid so haven’t spent time outside! We could sure use some of your rain as I have the sprinklers on timers to go off 4 out of 7 days on recycled water. Great card!

Gorgeous, Sabrina! I love the stenciled background. Just enough but not too much to take away from the beautiful hummingbird. But I think my favorite part is that stamped edging around the sentiment with the sponging too. It is such an elegant look.

Beautiful! I almost went with that ODBD hummingbird too....it's such a pretty image and fun to color. The colors on this are are so pretty and compliment each other so well. I like how you stamped the edging on the sentiment oval..great detail.
