This is my card for this week's Teapot Tuesday and CAS challenges. I'm also joining the Anything Goes Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
I colored the horse to reflect the unique strain of wild Kiger Mustang found only in Southeastern Oregon. This type of mustang is unique in that it is the only one that is directly descended from the Spanish horses brought to North America in the 17th century, a bloodline thought to have largely disappeared from wild herds until discovered in Oregon in 1977.
The horses have distinct "dun" (gray to tan to reddish tan) colors, and may also have a dorsal stripe down the back and primitive leg markings.
I have never lost my love of horses since I was a young girl, so this was a fun opportunity to show a wild mustang from my home state with a unique lineage.
I used Copic markers to color the horse and sketch out a primitive background.

Well this went straight to my faves. I'm surprised to only see one horse in this gallery so far. Your coloring is amazing and how cool that it was inspired by horses in your area! I also can't get enough of that gorgeous background that you created. So gorgeous, Stef!

I love that set, I was so tempted by it but I think my nieces have outgrown the horsey stage. Love that wild mountainous setting you created for the horse, too.
