I have been so busy with many work and home activities that I have been only popping to view the challenges and galleries with only snippets of time to browse. I just realized there was a VSN this past weekend, and a mini in March, so I checked out the challenges. Well, to my surprise, the first mini challenge by Kim (berlycece) was the first technique I did at an introductory workshop for SU (soooooo many years ago). My love of turquoise and silver jewelry was also a source of inspiration, specifically this piece, https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AZYstH...BA4VhPSjxvUdY/. A few of my pieces are in the photo with the card. I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday (shhh...don't tell DH) and came back with loads of goodies, new paint, dies, EP and much more.
I started by swiping cracked pistachio DTP then drying it with my heat tool. On a piece of foil, I mixed the gold and pink paint until I was satisfied with the color I wanted and then diluted with a little water and did the marble roll technique for the bg. Dried with my heat tool and added veridian paint to the center, heating and blotting to speed up drying time. Next, I stamped the sentiment in black and used the snowing stamp in versamark and embossed in turquoise to create additional flecks of color. I applied distress glaze before adding the the oval frame and sequins. I used the largest 2 oval dies to create the frame.
Thanks for looking!

Wow! What a work of art! I love the awesome effect you got with your new craft supplies! See all the techniques are new to me because I’ve only been stamping for a few years. Oh and by the way, have you seen the meme that says “if I die, don’t let me husband sell my craft supplies for what I told him they cost”. HA! Story of my life! Well, I did ‘fess up to my Spectrum Noir Markers one day...
