Thanks for a fun Teaparty Jen. Our cards are going to a school bus driver at the Lake Highlands Elementarty School in Dallas. The kindness of Curtis and his wife brought a bus load of Christmas wishes to lots of children and now we are showing them that kindness matters and we're paying it forward by flooding them with happy mail.
I downloaded a free colouring page of a school bus and coloured it with Copics and pencils. The card base is a Centre Step fold. Instead of bringing the centre forward, I brought the sides forward and recessed the centre portion.
The blackboard was made using black gesso, it dries with a great rough matt finish. I painted a full A4 sheet so I could have some in my stash.
I tried writing with a white crayon but it didn't stand out very well so Plan B was initiated and I went to my stash to retrieve some more blackboard card (yep it was still on top of the pile).
This time I used white Posca 0.7mm paint pen for the small writing and the big writing was done with a white water based Sharpie pen. I highly recommend the 7mm Posca paint pens, they are really dense, write like a normal pen and come in heaps of colours, including metallic.
The sides were covered with dp, the bus was fussy cut and then I scribbled white crayon onto my finger tips and smudged the blackboard. Job done...in record time!
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to send Curtis some happy mail.

I must try this inverted centre fold, it looks really neat...I said that the last time you did it too! The blackboard is so perfect, and this is one time when even those of us with no calligraphic skills (that's me, not you) can get it right . What a wonderful card for Curtis, Susie.

What a great guy card for this bus driver Susie and what a great way to make that blackboard!! You are genius sistah!! I will have to look into those pens you were telling us about! Hopefully we can get them here in Cali...Cali has very unusual strict rules for what can come into our state, I couldn't even have yuppo paper delivered??? crazy! I had it sent to my friend in Texas and then SHE sent it to me (secretly, heehee). I tried having some special artist paint sent one time too and same thing! Imagine that!
Anyway, your card is so wonderful and I know he is going to love it!
