A good friend gave me some rice paper that she brought back from Tokyo. I have used just about all of it.
My daughter majored in art history at UNC so I started looking through her books that were left here. FLW was also into Japanese Art prints, and with everyone making cards with light, I decided to go another direction. Some 400 art prints were found in his possession after he died. So I decided to go in the print direction as I love Japanese art! Thanks for the challenge as I spent hours reading about FLW.
The last thing he designed was the Civic Center in Marin County where we had to go to get a marriage license. Marin County is over the Golden Gate Bridge. Very interesting building as is the Guggenheim in NYC.
Thanks for the challenge and getting me to read more about the architect. Spent most of the morning reading about FLW. Very interesting life.......

What a beautiful card Kathy! That rice paper is gorgeous. I didn't realized FLW was into Japanese prints but I can see it....they would go well with his designs.

Yeah, Kathy! I am glad someone took FLW's love of Japanese prints as your starting point. The Asian bg is just beautiful and the restrained use of that wonderful Lynn Perella woman is fantastic.

He sounds as if he and Monet shared an interest, so. Your geisha image is a really beautiful one, and the origami paper is amazing...such gorgeous rich blues. Well done on such a creative and informative card for Jean's fun challenge.
