ABC10S12: My S is snow, I didn't get the double challenge of sunlight.
I was totally trying to copy this beautiful card: only using the supplies I have. This proves how much I need watercolor lessons!
I taped my watercolor paper down to my clipboard. I drew a cabin on post-it and cut it out to mask the cabin out. I do not have a stamp that works for a log cabin in the woods, so I drew it and painted. The only stamp used is the sentiment stamp.
I did the best I could with my Crayola watercolors. I have so much to learn about watercoloring. She made it look so easy in the video. After doing the painting, and adding layers to it, I splattered white acrylic paint for snow.
After removing the tape and cutting it down to size, I stamped the sentiment, heat embossing the black powder.
I added a thin black mat to the top and bottom and then added this to the kraft card base.
Thanks for looking!

Way to go Catherine! Your New Year challenge to yourself...watercolor. Beautiful first try at watercoloring. The sky is so pretty and the scene looks like a blizzard is blowing through the trees!

I think it’s absolutely gorgeous for your first time Sis. You know we are our own worst critics !!! This is absolutely gorgeous and way better then I could even do. Oh wait I do t do watercolor because it intimidates me !! Lol but now you being the enabler that you are to me. I think while my daily convo with SIL to keep her from not being so lonely for the first time this holidays , I will try it too. So this way if it fails which I know I definitely will I can blame it on distraction and multi tasking . Roflmbo !!
Good excuse right? Hahaha

You drew a log cabin? Awesome. I just love your trees in this too. Your sky and the smoke coming out of the cabin are very well done. Great challenge to take up watercolor! I am impressed!

I think you did a wonderful job with this, Catherine! Just remember, we have to start somewhere, and practice makes perfect. So keep bringing on those water colored paintings for us to admire~

You go girl! I love this wonderful/cozy wintry scene you created here with your watercolor crayons. It is all about having fun and you look like you had a lot of fun making this wonderful card Catherine. I am quite impressed with the results you achieved here. I am wanting to get into water coloring too, and have a very long way to go with it, but you are doing a fantastic job my friend! ~Karen.
