Janelle is asking us to Wind Down the Holidays for today's MIXed media challenge. Ironically, when I got home from work a package had finally arrived with a TCW mini Time Travel stencil - but I'd already made this before work.
Gel print background with metallic gold in it. I stamped the steampunk clock and embossed it with clear EP. Stamped the bird again on a scrap of something and added more colour to it with Mermaid markers, and shimmer with an SN clear glitter pen, plus Glossy Accents on the beak. I used pigment re-inkers to add colour to the clock face and the heart shape, and metallic gel pens to add some detailing to the clock. Then I used black soot DOX and a numbers stencil to stencil numbers into the background. Stamped the sentiment on a bit of oxidised shaving foam, trimmed it and stapled it to the main panel, which had been torn to size.
I stamped Aida Cloth in Delicata gold on a black base and added my panel. There were some crumpled bits of copper tape from last week's Chibitronics card initial boo-boo, so I added those, burnishing them on and then adding texture with a stylus and a tracing wheel. I think I might keep this for our anniversary this year, so I added a little heart which I found when checking the bin for a missing die. Found the die too...

What a fun steampunk image - so much to look at between the pipes - spring, clockworks and maybe the bird represents the fact that "time flies" . . . I like the stenciled numbers floating in the bg.
