I love Tickle a Teapotter time of the month. Thank you Sabrina for making this monthly event so much fun and run so smoothly. You do so much here at SCS and it is greatly appreciated.
The local girls were very excited to be in the Miss Whykickamoocow contest. The rules were quite strict this year, no bikinis or naval rings....you can imagine the shocked looks when Trixie turned up wearing both!
Initially Trixie was announced the winner, but Clementine protested that Trixie should be disqualified, not only because she broke the dress code, but in fact she lives in Gimpleroo - a good two and a half hour drive outside of the district.
After much discussion with the Whykickamoocow Country Women's Association (WCWA) secretary Joyce, and the event organisers, it was decided to award Clemi the title of Miss Whykickamoocow and Trixie was named runner up, technically that makes her the first loser. Neither of the girls look very happy with this result and I expect this is not the last we are going to hear on the matter.
About the card - the background is part of the stash of backgrounds I made last week using Dylusions Ink spray and Distress inks, lots of water, stamping and
stenciling (with paste and ink).
I figure if you are going to get messy, then make as many backgrounds as you can until all the ink and paste run out. I have read that mixed media does not have to be messy - for me that's like saying you don't have to get wet when you go for a swim!
My bunting is made from washi tape and gold twine, only the two end flags are glued to the card. The Teapotter who receives this will be able to foof the other flags up a bit.
I don't often add sentiments to the front of cards, but this one seemed to fit perfectly..."I didn't get to be this fabulous overnight".
I hope you get a chance to join us at the Whykickamoocow Festival. Apart from the beauty contest, there will be Best in Show awards for the Best Floral display, Best Bird/Birds and Best Musician/Musical Performance. I can't wait to see all the cards!
Thanks so much for looking.

Oh, my gosh, Susie! Your card is as awesome as your description! I can imagine how disappointed Trixie was when she learned that Clemi registered a complaint and knocked her out of first place into the first loser spot! Poor thing! She certainly has the body that should have been considered. Clemi is covering hers up but I think she must have thought she would win before she arrived at the contest since she was already wearing a crown. Oh, wait, she got that as the result of winning! Oh, well. Ms. Susie, this card is awesome and I love the beautiful background, flag banner, and fantastic sentiment. I love the gorgeous ladies in their red swimwear. Oh, where in the world is Whykickamoocow?

Susie...I feel like it's Old Home Week what with seeing all the girls again. Especially Sassy Alana. It's been too long. It warms my heart. Thank you again for your much appreciated gesture last week. What a mood booster. Love you! And a special big Hug to everyone else involved!
We should all head up to Whykickamoocow this week. The Miss Whykickamoocow Contest is part of an event going on all week. The Contest is the biggest hooha the County has all year. "Hooha"... I hope this isn't a bad word. I couldn't believe I heard a certain word come out of my mother's mouth one time. She said, perfectly innocently, a word that meant something ENTIRELY different than when it was in use back in her day. I nearly fell out of my chair. My DH, since he was seated next to her, took on the delicate duty of quietly leaning over and telling her. "Ah, Mom…..that has a very different meaning in this day and age." and clued her in. Better him, than me.
I can understand why Trixie is miffed. If she was already named the winner it just doesn't seem fair! And yet... Well, I bet the judge was a hawk. You have to watch out for those hawks. They have this nasty habit of just swooping in and knocking you off your feet. I imagine he was flirting with Trixie before the actual contest began and she believed all his guff. (I think I might have to write my own dictionary one of these days. I seem to be using a lot of words out of my very long ago past that are probably not in use anymore. But maybe you get the gist of them.) Of course, Clementine is a very pleasant looking young birdlet. BUT...Trixie is a real Zinger! That hawk couldn't help himself. Given that it was probably also very aggressively pointed out to him that Trixie wasn't really qualified to be the winner, by a whole flock of Clemi's relatives and friends he had to give in and give Clementine the crown. I've also noticed that Trixie has been having a fairly annoying rebellious streak lately, so maybe this a good learning experience for her. There really is nothing wrong with being the first Loser. Anyone's mother can tell you that. It wouldn't hurt for the Whykickamoocow County Women's Association to have a talk with that hawk too. Although I imagine the hawk will take advantage of the situation and make a big show of consoling Trixie and wheedling himself into her life. After all, he has to make it up to her for all this embarrassment that was forced on her because he is all twitterpated (another word from my colorful past) for her.
After all the hullabaloo, the WCWA secretary Joyce was heard to say,"My goodness, can't our own little worlds ever run the way they're supposed to without all these complications? Maybe next year we should have a pie eating contest instead."
And now I will close my computer and shut my mouth that has been hanging open since seeing these 2.....lovely young birds....and go to bed. Have a wonderful time in Whykickamoocow. I'll be going back again next year, just to see the pie eating contest. What could go wrong with that?
By the way, I really love this card!!! And the girls just couldn't be any better suited to the job you gave them. And the banner...what an Excellent touch!
Omgoodness!! Roflol!! Wherever it is I officially rolling there all the way laughing!!! Your a Riot and well not sure if hoohaa can have multiple meaning but in this situation mine means haahaaa misspelled!! lol Totally fantastic and creativity off the henge!!! I love the imagation , creativity and you Dear Sis Susie brings it all to life!!

Miss Susie, I am so glad I did not have a mouth full of coffee when I snorted laughing at your story. Then I read the comments above and Ellen seems to have the next chapter to the story. I love your fun BG and love that you made a few at the same time so you have a few for more cards. Some teapotter is going to just love this super fun card. Oh and Trixie and Clementine sure got a run for their money with each other, they are both super cute in their bathing suits.

Up until this very moment, I thought that Whykickamoocow was a real place, now I'm not so sure. Australia does have some unusual words in its vocabulary. Of course Wisconsin does too, like Oconomowoc, Waukesha, Weyauwega, and Ashwaubenon. We are good spellers here. Susie, I don't know what to say, except bravo, bravo, bravo.

Is Trixie wearing a ten gallon hat? It's the perfect fashion accessory to the bikini and navel ring. Clemi doesn't seem very happy to have won the crown this year ...she's probably ticked off cuz she wanted to wear her bikini. I have to admit those judges had a hard time this year..both are so deserving. I love your bg and the washi banners are great...extra cookies for you. Thanks for bringing us this tickle challenge...LOVE it..so much fun!!
