Better late than never, this is for Miss Lisa's fun Teapot challenge - send some laughter to Leann, who recently broke her leg.
I made a card for Leann 2 days ago, DH asked if it was for a Teapot friend. I told him that I didn't know the lady...he suggested that a floosy lying on the floor singing one tequila, two tequila, three tequila FLOOR may not be appropriate humour for someone who doesn't know me. Back to the drawing board.
Yesterday I received the most wonderful 'Tickle a Teapotter" card from Susan (One4Joy) and a fabulous stash of goodies and super funny stamp sentiments. As soon as I read this sentiment, I knew exactly what to create for Leann.
This image and sentiment reminds me so much of my childhood. My brothers and I would spend days and days building a billy-cart, then we would prang it in 5 minutes and more often than not, one of us would break a bone.
We were banned from billy-cart riding one summer when my older brother and I both broke an arm in the same accident. We thought it was great and used our plastered arms as pirate swords, unfortunately my younger brothers head connected with one of our plastered arms/swords...he broke his nose LOL. Ahhh we had fun!
Now about my card. I had dreadful trouble with the Smack & Squirt technique. No amount of blending with my foam blending tools would spread the inky water properly. Then I realised that as I hadn't used the foam tools in 6 months, they had dried out. A quick squirt of water directly onto the sponge soon fixed the problem.
The kids were printed onto copy paper, coloured with pencils and topped off with some Copics then adhered to the background after I had stamped in the foliage.
Thanks so much for looking. I'm off to post this now.

Susie, what a wonderful story about your childhood! Your card is so gorgeous with the children in a "billy cart" racing into trouble! The sentiment is awesome and brought me laughter! I love the gorgeous background you created for the card! Awesome work, as usual. Hugs!

I loved your story...sorry about your brother's nose..lol...This is so cute..I love the cart and I'm sure Leann will, too. I actually think your first card would have been fine, too (Leann is my friend and she has a good sense of humor). Thanks for making a card for her.

OMG Miss Susie If you saw my face while reading your story about breaking bones I swear my jaw was on the table. I am glad you and your siblings survived the Billy Cart days.
I totally think that Leann would have gotten a tickle out of your first card and your second one is just too funny as well. I totally love this sentiment and great image and coloring.
Thank you so much for joining in the challenge with this super cute and fun card.

Ah the good ole days of making and crashing billy carts!! We lived at the top of a steep hill, Susie, so you can just imagine the chaos/carnage caused when we reached the bottom of the hill!! Your card is just fabulous, as usual, a great scene with the kids in the billy cart and the sentiment is just so apt!!

As always, Susie, your backgrounds are magical wonderlands. I'm glad you figured out how to fix your blending foam to create it. Love the colours of berries on the tree...like that here now with all the hawthorn and rowan. The very delicate doodled border line is fab. I'm just not so sure about the scrubby growth in the foreground which looks very thorny, and I'm sure they will regret it. I did NIT regret the bramble patch the time I was taking a shortcut home one night along a path: slowing down in a muddy patch meant my dynamo light wasn't enough to show a drop round a curve...but the brambles broke my fall wonderfully, and as I was wearing waterproofs, I was well protected from the prickles. After I got home I had to drive back with a torch, though and park on the road nearby to find the stuff that had fallen out of my saddlebags, ...and ever after that I always had a good battery-powered lamp for my bicycle.

Oh Susie - what a great read about your story of a mischevious childhood with broken bones to show for it. Me - I just broke my arm sliding down a very small makeshift slippery dip which was not all that slippery! Not nearly as dramatic as your adventure. Love this scene with Ginger Meggs and his girlfriend. Got the band aids at the ready.
