This week we are taking our inspiration from the painter Wayne Thiebaud. I painted the bg with acrylic paint then went over it with gesso using a dry brush to create some softness. The bow ties were cut from gelli print scraps. I painted some gray around the edges of the bow ties to create a shadow and doodled around the border, highlighting with some gel pens. Come join us this week for the MIX challenge!

Smiling here. What a fun take on your inspiration piece, Polly. Love the texture in your base. I always forget that I have two pads of acrylic paper in my stack of pads.

you were made for being inspired by his art work. I feel like I've heard the name but don't know the work. so fun, love the sentiment. full of color, whimsy and charm.

I can't help but wonder how much the pronunciation of his last name encouraged his painting (with his sense of humor shining through). Wonder if he wears bow ties? Is he tall and thin? You did a super work in representing his art. Thanks for the introduction to his work, too!

I know good bowties when I see them. I used to wear them for about 30 years when I sang and ran my own singing telegram business. You created some real magic here, Polly. Tra la la!

Oh, sweet Polly, I love this amazing card and think that it is a great representation of Wayne Thiebaud's art! I love the beautiful background and how you've used the bowties! And your doodled border is fabulous with the fun sentiment! Giggled when I read it! I love it, sweet friend! Hugs and love! xoxo
