This is for the 700th Color Challenge using Pam's favorite challenge and her dessert of Beach. I used a left over panel from Mary's DTGD Challenge and put it on a Marina Mist card base. Coincidentally, I set this panel aside to use it for the Ways to Use It 700th Challenge - Sabrina's Beach Party, so I am linking to that challenge as well.
To make the panel originally, I did a wash with Oxide ink for the water and then for the sand. I piled up glass bead gel for the foam. It was sparkly, textured, but clear when it dried, so I put on some white metallic gelatos and some white acrylic paint over the water edge on the sand; and then ran colored metallic gelatos over the water edge on the other side. I added some gelatos to the water for the blue color of the sea. I stamped speckle with a brownish gelato color on the sand.
Today, I added Crumb Cake speckles, sponged around the panel with Marina Mist. The shell sea was stamped in two steps with Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler, fussy cut, sponged on the edges with Crumb Cake and painted with Wink of Stella. I added two shaped brads, some rhinestones and pearls. This grouping reminds me of when our kids would find "treasures" along the seashore and make their piles near our beach towels. I stamped the sentiment at the top in Cherry Cobbler. It is so pretty and bright, but I am disappointed that the photo makes it look like black. The panel is so sparkly and glistening which I cannot capture. Thanks Pam and Sabrina for the motivation to use this extra panel. Thanks Mary for the DTGD challenge and the 700th Color Challenge.
Outside "You are the extra in my ordinary"
Inside "That's what makes you really something".
Thanks for looking!

This is just so beautiful. Thank you for the detailed description, so that I can attempt something like this. The sea and sand are fabulous and I love that collection of beach treasures. Fun brads!

Love this card. Your water's edge on the sand is just perfect. This is one of my favorite kinds of cards and you made a beautiful one.
