I created this card to send to Send a Smile 4 Kids. They have already finished collecting summer cards, even though it's only the middle of August, and have moved on to fall, as well as winter & holiday! I printed the "Cornucopia" digi image onto a scrap of bristol paper with my laser printer. I have noticed that the Tombow & Zig markers seem to react with the ink from my Epson printer. Because the printer inks are waterproof, I suspect there may be a chemical reaction going on. At any rate, I have had no problems when coloring images printed with my laser printer.
After I finished coloring the image--adding shading & highlighting with a water brush--I added a shadow underneath with a warm grey Tombow marker to ground the image. I used my water brush to soften the edges of that, and also to draw some of the colors from the bottom-most objects into the shadow, just for some added interest.
I used a piece of light tan cardstock for my front panel. I cut strips from a kind of pinky-orange (or orangey-pink?) and brown chevron paper from my scrap stash, and a pumpkin patterned paper from the Echo Park pad. I adhered the strips to the background with ATG adhesive, not pressing down hard, in case I had to pull them up to adjust them. Which I did, since the focal panel didn't fill the space within the strips perfectly. So I readjusted & made everything fit. I had to trim a hair off only one strip in the process! And that finished this card. The coloring was probably the longest part of the whole process, but I absolutely LOVE how it came out!

you've every right to be proud of this result - extremely well colored , and your framing adjustment well worth it. Thank you for taking such care to send quality cards to a great cause!

Love your cornucopia! The colouring is superb and your shadowing details beautiful! I'm making note of the way you framed around the focal point - I really like it!
