| | I made this card for last week's alphabet challenge for the letter X for Xanthic (which means a touch of yellow). Do you see the touch of yellow on my card? Look on the bird's tummy. My friend gave me this stamp and die set for my birthday so I made this card as a thank you for her. The flowers and bird were heat embossed in gold, then watercolored with a paint brush and TH Distress inks. The background panel was die cut, then run through the pinewood planks EF. Then I took SU Creamy Caramel ink and swiped that over the raised portions of the dry embossing to add a little texture. I also used a stamp from the SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set to add some pretty in pink, creamy caramel and tumbled glass ink to the background. The sentiment is unmarked and stamped beautifully over the embossed areas which surprised me. All the elements are glued down. I was a bit disappointed in that the only response my friend said to receiving the card is, "yes I got it." Has that ever happened to you before? That just does not feel very good. But...I did have a lot of fun making this card and I have wonderful new toys to play with so I am grateful. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen. |
