For maybe two months now I have had a tab open with MariLynn's MIX191: Burned Paper Bag Leaves challenge open because I wanted to try it again. And one morning before work this week I did all the burning bit, and yesterday I did the black paint bit. So today I thought I'd make them up into something - partly inspired by this week's daisy petal dress in the Weekly Inkling.
DH and I spent a while yesterday making gel prints - I think this one might be a joint effort, one that he started and then I added some stencilling and another layer to. Mostly his were on white paper and mine were on book pages . It even has some different colour on the bottom from a different print, which made a good floor line across the bottom of the card. I stamped and embossed the dress from from Unity, and then carefully layered up the leaves to create an Autumn skirt. The waistband is a little strip of gold covered with silver glitter drops from Nuvo. And I used gold Liquid Pearls to add a little necklace with a small half-pearl. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from ODBD, and then went looking in my bird box - I think this one came from Lorraine. I edged the whole thing with gilding flakes. Yep, the ones that go all over if you as much as breathe, and at 80F up here even at 7 in the evening I had no choice but to keep the window open. THen I added it to a black base, and added one more leaf. I'll stick a detailed photo onto the challenge thread.

This is so cool... I really like the dress out of the leaves, so very creative. Background looks awesome. Super cool! Thanks for playing in my DTGD challenge this year.
