Sharing a third card in my self-challenge to use different coloring mediums with the same stamp set. This time I've colored the Beautiful Day stamp set from Altenew with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils - No Mineral Spirits.
First. This is a lovely set to color especially if you're practicing shadows and light. Each time I color this set I'm more confident about where they should be. And maybe that is the plus in doing this exercise - "practice"
I wasn't as happy with this layout as I was with the first two, but, it's paper and it can be done again. And that's what this is all about isn't it -- learning as we go.
I think I like the look of the second card using the Zigs, although I was bummed when I found out they are not light fast.
This took two days to finish, but using a new color kept the design fresh and interesting. I tried to go slow and concentrate on the process. My final card will again use this stamp set, but I will do it using a professional tube watercolor (Schminke or Daniel Smith). We will be traveling soon so I may not be able to get to it for a week or so. But I promise that I will share it with you as soon as it's done.
I hope you've enjoyed my small exercise and will consider trying this for yourself.
Happy Crafting friends!
Sincerely,
Susie ~

Oh, sweet Susie, what an exquisite card! All your cards are gorgeous, but there are some that are more so...as is this one! I love colored pencils, and you use them well and have brought these blooms to life! You've masked and arranged a lovely collection, and I love the soft aura around them. The layout is beautiful with the dotted Swiss oval, and what a lovely touch using the gold "thank you" sentiment and sequins! Stunning, precious friend! Thank you for sharing and inspiring! Hugs and love! xoxo

Stunning card Susie :-) the flowers are so pretty and your colouring is fabulous! LOVE it :-)
Thanks for your comment on my card kit card too xx It's funny you picked on the afternoon tea theme! I actually made that card for THE Mandy who the card kit is inspired by! Mandy is a friend of Heidi's who every time I visit the Simon store she takes Heidi and me out for a lovely afternoon tea!
