Technique Lovers Challenge inspiration: use Q-tips to paint or do a bg or image on your creation. The videos and possibilities on this challenge are awesome - I will never look at a Q-tip the same. I bundled some of them up and made a striped bg for my card. Hundreds of dots later, I had a bg! This is Pointillism at warp speed! Fun!
Mix Stamp Over It - Twice! Challenge inspiration: Do a fun bg and then stamp all over it (I used little soft white stars - you can barely see them but they really help make the bg even better) and stamp again.
So I have to admit I did the MIX challenge backwards, I had already done my Qtip bg, cut out my wreath and embossed my sentiment but hadn't finished the card because the bg needed something. The MIX challenge inspired me to do more distressing and stamp on some stars. I was finally happy.
This card is distressed three different ways. It was originally distressed with some Walnut stain around the edges and in some of the white spots. Then it was folded up and distressed with Walnut stain on the folds,. Lastly, some of the folds were distressed with white craft ink as well (this was actually an accident caused my ink smudges when stamping my stars - lol).
Thanks for the inspiration - I had fun every morning this week making this card a little at a time. I will be buying more Q-tips this weekend - I see more cards in my mind. Hugz

OMG Nancy, thanks for sharing your awesome talent here!! Love the way you have created the different color strips across and added the little white stars for interest. I had to keep reminding myself that you did this with Q-tips...say what?! Fav'd

Wow - so many wonderful techniques on this Nancy! Love the way the folds make it look like separate tiles - and that background is so awesome with the q-tip painting! A beautiful piece!

Oh, Nancy, girl!! I agree -- never going to look at a Q-Tip the same way - ever! LOL! What an artist you are to think so out of the box with this one! I love how you've created such a perfect representation of our American flag and then love the stars with the sentiment! This is fabulous!! I'm with Angie when she said, "you rocked my world with inspiration!" Totally LOVE this card, sweet friend! xoxo
