Sympathy cards are so hard to make. Especially the words, so went with Thinking of you. Maybe a nice verse on the inside.
Todays challenge was to use something comforting on your card. I lots of times if having a rough time I look out at nature, and the beauty around in it. That is why i started with this paper on my desk. Was gong to use it a few days ago and never got that card done. Today my daughter and SIL took me to a small little beach by the lake. No-one there at first so nice and quiet. We were walking along and all of a sudden we were semi surrounded by butterflies, big beautiful monarch type ones, some orange some blue and white, some little lilac colored ones . It was amazing to see, like 20 of them and they stayed with us in that area for the time we were there. so pretty. Then shortly after, a young doe (deer) was behind us nibbling on some trees I got like 10 feet away from it, was so calming, I find there is something beautiful about nature and its wildlife.
So I hope this will help too. The top lacy part was from an old top of a card so reused it, just layered the soft paper over the purple one and sponged the edges of the butterflies to match. Thanks for the visit. Going to send others from My stash I think, or might be back. Late now so will check out the gallery tomorrow.

I think those butterflies were a sign, a symbol of some kind....I like how you carried it through to your card.Yes, nature can be very comforting. Beautiful card.

Yes, I find nature comforting as well. I don't have many butterflies at my house, but I have lots of beautiful birds at my feeders. The birdsong is beautiful! Love your card! I almost used butterflies on mine. Beautiful comforting colors on this card and the sentiment is perfect!

Oh, Wanda - I enjoyed your write-up so much. That is the sort of thing that makes special memories, isn't it. It sounds so peaceful. I remember after going to the funeral of a still-born baby, I had prep for summer camp that night but after the funeral I just went up to the woods for an hour of peace and rest, and I saw a deer that day, and a fox with young cubs. I think this is a beautiful card - and butterflies are always good, but especially for sympathy.

Oh, I wish I had been on that beach with you--what a special treat. Your card is very special and it has just the right message through its images and it's sentiment. Very nicely done.
