For Lyn's Hammer Time TLC today. I was so busy making cards that I need (and writing and addressing them) that I almost forgot to play along so this is a quick card, but it's a fun technique and definitely one I'll be trying again. See her challenge for the details.
I used the piece of stencilled background which I smudged a sentiment on for the MIX challenge on Friday - tearing off the part with the sentiment left me with a good size for an A2 card. I used the Darice Cherry Blossom ef and the Cuttlebug Polka Dots, and sponged over the blossom with green ink and the dots with white. Stamped the sentiment and notes. Added the grass (MFT Fresh cut grass) border and the Memory Box bird, both cut from scraps. Took me longer working out a background, plain white card wasn't working. In the end this is a piece of glossy card with alcohol inks, I embossed it with the same Polka Dot ef and added a border with a black Sharpie. I didn't really like the border so I toned it down by wiping the whole thing with more white pigment ink and am happy with how it came out.

This has Spring written all over it! That little bird is so sweet and your yellow/green bg with the texture turned out so cool! If I get myself moving...I will give this a try...

This is such a fun card, Sabrina. I love all the texturedd and patterns...especially that bird. He looks fabulous. Nothing would be better than to spend a day looking through all your scraps and leftovers...it would even be worth braving the snow. Wonderful mixed media card.
