Ever find there is that one card that makes you fall, hard, for a particular stamp set? One of the examples in this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog did that just for me with the Amazing You set. After seeing that beauty, I was enamored with this stamp set, and I have been playing with it a lot ever since it landed in my hands as a gift from my incredibly kind and generous local SU demonstrator. She has hosted a few inspiration challenges in her FB group in recent weeks, and when last week's challenge was to "CASE the catty," I knew instantly what I was going to make!
A quick scan of recent SCS challenges gave me further inspiration to make this design work with the elements I had on hand - paper piecing (WT677) and using a favorite two-step stamp set (F4A419). The flower became lifelike when I used the paper piecing technique to best show off the focal point of this card, and I added a gold adhesive gemstone I picked up at our grand WM awhile back in place of the fancy (but very flower-like) embellishment used in the catalog card. I also lacked the ribbon (or is that washi tape?) that anchors the white panel to the pool party panel, so I improvised by using one of my most treasured 2-Step Stampin' stamp sets (Make A Mitten), utilizing patterns from the set that most emulated the look of the embellishment on the catalog card. And this week's CAS (#471) is to use a solid color base so here I am with one for that as well (THANKS, Jean, for the heads-up!!!)
I made two of these cards to go to two lovely folks who are in need of a little handmade kindness this week (hence my participation in last week's Teapotter Tuesday, MMTPT501).
Thanks so much for the awesome challenges and for taking the time to view my card!
Blessings,
C

Chrissy, this is truly an amazing card. I love the CAS design. BTW, you should add this week's Clean and Simple keyword, because I think this card meets the challenge. Solid base. Look in the Challenge Forum. The linework on this is a very nice touch. Link to CAS challenge for this week: CAS471 - Color Base - 3/5/18 by Humma at Splitcoaststampers
