This is for Stacy's Inspiration Challenge - Schreiner's Iris Gardens. Fabulous site. I didn't realize that the iris flower has so many varieties. I used my favorite one which is the well-known purple with yellow centers.
The flower reminded me of the stamp set I used. When I got the case out, there were pre-stamped iris images on acetate. I didn't remember what I had planned to do or why I had stamped them. I took advantage of the opportunity and looked up a technique on SCS in the Tutorial section - Acetate and Tissue as seen here:
The tutorial gives instructions for using a solid image. However, mine was a line image. So, I colored it on the top side with sharpie markers. On the underside, I smeared Crystal Effects, dropped on reinker in Soft Sky and while wearing a disposable glove, I smeared the ink around with my fingers. Sprinkled on fine glitter and then laid tissue paper on top, pressing down gently. Let dry! I had colored the butterfly in pink but it turned up purple. The background ended up more green than blue, but that's okay, it's a garden inspiration. It's a very cool technique and I enjoyed it. It would be great for a watery effect. Die-cut ovals. Embossed sentiment in black. Added a yellow bow to bring out the yellow on the iris. Thankfully the center stayed yellow. It's very sparkly IRL. Glad to use an old stamp set today and discover a new technique by chance. TFL

Beautiful card with your acetate iris panel, Diane. The bg looks like green marble or pale malachite. I imagine coloring on acetate isn't the easiest, but you did a superb job.
