We have been away in our van for most of this week and while I had lots of ideas racing around in my head for cards in the end I have only managed one but combined three challenges.
Our 99.5 year old mum had spent the fortnight before we went down the coast in hospital with a very bad UTI but came home and all was well.
BIL (or #1 son) and his wife were stepping up to the plate so that we could have a break.
Not quite two days after we arrived at the caravan park we got a phone call from the hospital to say mum was back in there, she had had a fall and broken her elbow.
She is in a lot of pain and very depressed and up until today had more or less decided not to eat, so now we all have to make sure one of us is there at meal times to encourage her.
I made this card to cheer her up and I think it did.
The card is for this weeks colour challenge to use Real Red, Whisper White and silver, I used Real Red and the corresponding copic markers for blending, X-Press It White Blending Card for the white, Smoky Grey for the background stamping, it looks like silver and silver embossing powder for the greeting.
The Teapot Tuesday Challenge was to use stitching any sort real or imaginary, I used a Poppy Craft Die with a double stitched border.
Last but not least I used this weeks sketch for the layout.
Hope you like it and find inspiration, cheers Marg

What a beautiful card for your Mum. It must be such a difficult time for her and of course you and your family. I'm thinking of you Marg. Gentle hugs my friend.

This is absolutely beautiful and I've added to my favourites. The colour of the flower is just gorgeous...so vibrant. I wish your mum a very speedy recovery. TFS. Happy day.

Gorgeous card Marg! I love the bubblewrap background - it is the perfect foil for your amazing flower! The silver accents are perfectly placed and really add a beautiful shine. Thinking of you and your MIL; mine is 98. Hope you all can weather this storm.

This is lovely and the red caught my eye right away. I hope as you do that this card will get your mum's attention and cheer her up a bit. Try to enjoy your holiday despite the set back. Top notch card!
