Another little gumnut scene from Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie. This card was made for a Canadian friend of mine who missed out on this delightful childhood story when she was a kid. I am sure she will just love these.
These little gumnuts are wearing hats - gumnut hats.
Again the background was made by splashing watercolour paints on card, misting it and splashing the water around with a paint brush. I am still finding splashes of paint around the dining room table.
I drew the leaf, fussy cut it out and then painted it and edged it with a brownish red marker - to give it a tint on red which most gum leaves have. I fussy cut the gumnuts and mounted them on the leaf and added the sentiment.
That is my afternoon's work. It is now 39c here and we are in the middle a horrid heat wave. Too hot to do much at all.
Having trouble typing this up - as there are kitten paws all over the keyboard and two little faces watching the screen and the cursor moving along.
Hope you enjoy.

Oh my gosh, can May Gibbs gumnut babies get any more cute! Helen your handdrawn gum leaf looks real, Geoff just glanced at my iPad and asked how would you glue a leaf to a card!!! Your colouring looks so authentic. Another fantastic background and gorgeous colouring of your gumnut babies. Thanks for the great description too.
