Here's a card I've been working on for a couple of days. Just couldn't seem to find the time to finish it. I was first inspired by this lovely card by our Featured Stamper Nan Cee's. Such a lovely gallery that it was hard to choose one card. But you know I'm a sucker for Lovely As a Tree, so here it is. It was a perfect card to combine with Judy's black and white technique challenge.
I sponged Black Soot from the bottom up on the first panel and stamped the trees without reinking each time to get the same depth that our FS did. I looked for some B&W DP, but didn't have anything good, so I took her wood panel idea and used the stamp from Truly Grateful to get a wood look. I framed it all up like Nan Cee's card and then I took out my new tag dies from Gina K Designs. I've been seriously lacking in tag dies, so I finally bought myself some. Merry Christmas to me I found just the right "Season's Greetings" stamp in the To You & Yours set and finished off with some snowflakes from one of my new Recollections stamp sets that I bought at Michael's after Christmas clearance.
Yes, I'm still sending Christmas cards. I call this one a New Year's card, because it says Season's Greetings and will have a New Year message inside. This is going to my aunt's niece who sends us so many lovely hand-me-downs all year that my kids were actually wearing her son's clothes in my Christmas card. So I have to send her a thank you and a photo!
