I'm still on a roll to use my re-cycled gift wrap stash. The next paper I wanted to use is a matte gold foil with shinier polka dots. I also want to enter some SCS challenges, so I decided to check them out before I got started and get some design mojo going on how best to use my foil. This resulted in being able to enter six challenges. (Almost forgot my 2017 Christmas challenges!)
#1 - DD8ABC2B - Alphabet Challenge: Letter B = The Birth of Christ + double challenge: Letter Y for use Yarn Block technique. I made my snowy background using a modified version of this technique. I used the edge of the block rather than the flat side in order to get a smaller pattern for snow.
#2 - FS563 - Featured Stamper. This week Helen Gullett (byHelenG.) has been featured, and it was a joy to peruse her gallery. I found this card Mixed Media Christmas Card: Our Little King by byHelenG at Splitcoaststampers to use as my inspiration. I used Helen's Nativity theme, but changed mine to a silhouette, and I used a black background with the Yarn Block technique instead of the galaxy technique. Helen's card is fabulous and I really love it!
#3 - DEC17VSNPRE1 - What Color is Your Monopoly...this is a pre-VSN challenge which requires a monochromatic card. My color is Gold Foil and I used black as my neutral instead of white.
#4 - USEIT2017 - Use It...those forgotten or never used items in your cardmaking stash! I am using three Cottage Cutz dies that I've had for over a year and never used: Nativity Silhouette, Christening, and Thinking of You.
#5 - F4A403 - Free for All Challenge - Birthdays are the Best. My card celebrates the birth of Christ.
#6 - CCC17JUN - 2017 Christmas Challenge--June. The theme for this month is religious, nativity, non-Christmas: stars.
Ingredients: Papers: Stampin' Up cardstock--Basic Black; Gold foil dot re-cycled gift wrap. Beautiful card, Carlene and amazing challenge combination! Love how you're using old dies and stamps and recycling your wrapping paper. Looking forward to the next one.
