I had made one of these quilt samplers before for a color challenge and enjoyed it so much I decided to make it again for my classes using colors that are more pleasing to my eye. One thing I learned was to cut the backing for the quilt out of the same color as the edges of the quilt (night of navy). I cut the first piece and added the adhesive sheet (same size) to it. Then I cut the frame out of night of navy. That way, when there are any gaps, it's all the same color and looks more finished off as you add all the pieces into the quilt. For me, that was a huge discovery. In the past I have always added the building part on just plain ole copy paper, but when the gaps showed, I didn't like it.
