This is for my Sketch Challenge and Barbara's Color Challenge with dessert of using dimension. Do you ever plan a card and have it evolve and turn into something entirely different? Of course! I was going to use customary Christmas colors and I was planning to layer ovals on my card. Instead I used the challenge colors for a non-traditional Christmas card and I die-cut the ovals in the embossed Berry and Lagoon layers and then raised the panel up on Dimensionals. The ornate ornament was silver heat embossed, cut out, colored with markers in the challenge colors and adhered to the card base with a silver cord and a paper bow & rhinestone at top. The sentiment strip is also silver embossed and has a tiny embossed flower & heart shaped rhinestone at the end. I look forward to seeing what everyone creates with the sketch and the colors, too. This is a lovely use of the colors. Adding the Silver Embossing to the ornament really makes it look elegant.! Getting the colors into the ornament as well was very creative!

Love the non-traditional colors, Diane, as well as the beautiful embossing around your pretty ornament! Some of the best cards are those that take off in a direction of their own!

What a pretty Christmas card in these very non-traditional colors - it looks wonderful. I love that embossed background, and I know your silver embossing adds another layer of beauty (I know because, like my card, it doesn't show much, but is so pretty IRL!)

My goodness Diane, this card is so gorgeous! Of course, I am chuckling with you about the journey this card took you on because this has happened to me too. Your efforts have yielded a stunning card. I really love the embossed holly frame in the berry paper and I love all the colors you added to your embossed ornament that is so very stunning. The little paper bow is super charming and adds such a touch of elegance to an already elegant card. ~Karen.
