I worked on this image on Monday, but couldn't decide how to layout the card. Today's sketch was perfect. Initially I tried watercoloring this image, but was not at all happy with the results, so I added colored pencil over the watercolor and I am much happier now. I decided not to do any background stamping on the card base as I like this cleaner look better. EDIT: I really always need to have the sketch up in front of me when I am working. After I loaded it and looked at the gallery, I saw the other layer on the base card. So I got out the only sheet of DSP I had down here that had any Pixie Pink in it and added that to the card. I changed out the sequin color.

The shading you achieved with the colored pencils is gorgeous! I love it when a challenge comes along and perfectly helps a card come together!!! This is beautiful!

Beautiful card with your pink peony. The pencil over the watercolor is a great technique....one I would never have thought of. Love the few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Would you believe I still have a bit of that designer paper in my craft room?! That goes way back, right? I love that floral image and the vibrant color you used for it.
