This is one of the cards I made as a sample for Lisa's WTUI challenge which you can find HERE.
I gessoed a book page, and when it was dry, stamped and coloured the mouse and added the sentiment. I like to use Ranger's Archival when stamping on gessoed pages as it reduces the chances of smudging.
The main layer is IO's Gradation, inked with distress oxides (vintage photo, peeled paint, broken china), misted and stamped. I punched the corners and added it to a base sponged with broken china. The image panel was layered onto a scalloped circle and popped up on foam, and I added a few sequins to finish it off.
This is the first Penny Black stamp I bought, about 15 years ago.

Fun background and such a cute PB image. That really is an old one at 15 yrs. I still have several corner punches and never think to use them. We get new supplies and forget the older ones or that's me, at least.

Absolutely adorable image and fantastic job gessoing him over a book page he is just super cute. I love these older images and am looking forward to seeing many today. This one is so cute to not ink up once in a while. Thank you for creating such a darling card sample for the challenge.

I love doing the gesso on book pages, it makes the softest text background. That sweet little critter is really darling, love, love, love all of those polka dots!

Sabrina, your gessoed book page is a 'why didn't I think of that moment'. There are many times I wished I had a typed DP or stamp, and you've inspired me to use a book page!! Brilliant not to mentioned economical! .
Your stamped image is so adorable and timeless! Sweet design!

Love your cute image. I remember seeing those little mice long before I ever tried card making. I've always liked the look of stamping on print and I've got a great tip or two from you today, thanks!
