I chose the cardinal in a snow storm stamp from
Stampin' Up! retired set titled "A Beautiful Season" as my central Christmas theme. The cardinal was stamped on Whisper White with Versamark ink, then covered with Recollections Black Detail Embossing Powder and heated until it set. The piece was then matted with SU Real Red cardstock.
I chose to play off the black and white cardinal by using retired papers from Stampin' Up!. I've had the paper for so long that I no longer even know what the Designer Series Paper package it came from.
The measurements for the cuts and folds can be found in the technique link I provided above. There is both step-by-step instructions, and a video tutorial I highly recommend.
While this isn't a traditional Christmas card, it is very appropriate to send to friends or relatives who prefer a non-religious greeting during the winter holidays.

I love this double gate fold and the cardinal holding the gate. Terrific card in the red, black and white. Thanks so much for sharing with us at the Watercooler Wednesday challenge this week.

Wow, Donna, I love the double gatefold which you've used for your card. Great choice of image. The snow against the cardinal is very effective. Love the simplicity of colour. Keeping it all black and white with touches of red is stunning. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
