This is my project for the alpha challenge round 8 letter A. I'm teaching this type of box in my next technique class, and I wanted to have some extra samples, so I made this very Asian style. It's a 4 sided pyramid, with 2 holes near the top. The flat topper slides down over the pyramid points & the stick (made from a skewer) slides through the holes, holding the box closed. I colored the skewer with black alcohol ink and then glazed it. It took me awhile to figure out how to add the beads, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Melody, this is spectacular. So beautifully done, I really love the chopstick and bead work as adornments. Saving this beauty to my Pinterest favorites board.

I can see you have been in the creative mood lately! I like the texture and the gold ink, but the top of your box really takes center stage; it looks Amazing! Love the beads & black and red theme~
