This is one of my samples for the WTUI this week - you can find out all about the challenge HERE.
For this card I used the Faux Fabric tutorial by Karen Barber. It's basically embossing a stamped panel with a very textured ef, and I guess using DP would have a similar effect. I suspect I didn't have any suitable embossing folders when the tutorial featured in the Weekly Inkling.
Stamped my background panel with Playful Petals and coloured with Couleur d'Art pencils. Stamped one flower and a couple of leaves again on watercolour paper and coloured to match in more intense shades with distress inks and BIC markers. I was thinking of trying to represent one of those little blocked patch bags, but I'd have had to cut the patches so small!! I gave up and just added blocks to my card base, and then finished it off with a sentiment and the fussy-cut flower popped up on foam, and a swirl of gold cording.

I really like how this technique turns out - and I may try to emulate your beautiful card if I get to play later. It's colourful and really interesting to look at, with the added texture too.

I have absolutely got to try this technique. Love how it turns out. Great stamps you used and love the coloring too. My MIL would love a card out of this technique. Beautifully done and I am really looking forward to the amazing cards in today's gallery.

Sabrina, I love this card with the faux fabric technique! It really does look like fabric, and I agree with Susie...reminds me of some fabric back in the 60's. Beautifully done with the embossing. I love it, and thanks for a great challenge. Hugs!

Sabrina, this is wonderful! The texture, print, and torn edges make me a firm believer it is fabric ;) I think I had a dress out of a something similar. The pretty flower is the perfect finish!
