This is for my Sketch Challenge. Hope you can join in. I look forward to seeing what you create. For those trying to finish up the DTGD Challenges, this layout would work with many of the projects.
For my card, I used a technique I learned recently – Faux Silk. Basically, I stamped the image on the tissue paper, watercolored it, let dry and crinkled it up. Then I smoothed it out on a double sided adhesive Score-Tape sheet, which made it easier. There is a tutorial for Faux Silk here on SCS if you’d like to know more. I used one of my favorite retired sets. I stamped the sentiment lightly in the corner and then randomly over the rest of the card base. The sentiment is stamped in full on the inside. The image looked subdued, so I used a muted DSP. I like how the edges of the paper are already aged looking. Last, I added a few embellishments for a finishing touch.
Hope you have fun with the sketch! TFL

Beautiful, Diane! This is one of my favorite SU! images. Love the pretty watercolored image and the random stamping of the sentiment on the background!

Wow, this is spectacular! I love your use of the retired Feathered Hope stamp set (one of my favorites) as well as the beautiful designer paper and accents that you used to finish off the card! The coloring on the image is perfect- what a great way to highlight your wonderful sketch this week! Hugs and thanks for the inspiration!
