I started my beach scene by sponging the sky with pool party ink-made a mask for the horizon line.
Then sponged the water with tumbled glass distress ink and made another mask of torn paper.
The sand is sponged with crumb cake ink. Stamped the sandpipers in tip top taupe ink. This stamp also added some texture to the sand.
For my water, I used a technique I read about on Kittie's blog. You use embossing paste and your finger and dab the paste to give the appearance of whitecaps. It adds another dimension to your water as well as your beach scene.
For the diecuts: I used a sand castle from CottageCutz and cut in crumb cake cardstock. The clouds and seagulls are from the lighthouse die also from CottageCutz. The sailboat is a die from Memory Box and I cut in night of navy cardstock.
I framed this beach scene with a scalloped rectangle die from Impression Obsession. That completes my card.
