This sweet little bird, using Serendipity dies (Serendipity are one of the generous sponsors of prizes for DTGD) has been on my desk for a while - cut from watercolour paper and coloured with Twinkling H2Os for some true bird-like iridescence. The colours in him seemed to go perfectly with this spare background I'd created earlier - so time to make him a perch.
I dry-embossed a heart shape into the card, reverse masked it and stamped in the branch and leaves (inked with markers). Then I added more leaves in a lighter shade just to fill the space. Added gel pen dots to frame the heart which ties in visually with the sentiment I used. Added a few little gold-embossed music notes, and then layered it up onto some printed kraft DP.
Keep on hoping...never give up.

Love the background and the heart is so pretty with the leaf branches inside. Those gel pen dots (which I thought were pearls) finished it off in such a special way. Of course, I love the singing bird. Beautiful card.

Sabrina, how you doing? Here's today's big hug just for being you! I am in awe of the detail and love you put into this. So lovely. So perfect for the challenge. That little touch of blue on the head makes me think indigo bunting, but I'm sure it's some Irish fauna!
