I created this card to send to a friend of mine, from whom I haven't heard in a long time. I just wanted to let her know I'm thinking about her, and add a little fun to her day. I stamped & colored the otter, fish, & starfish, and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I glued the fish in the otter's hands. I die cut a panel of watercolor paper, and blended on Distress inks for the background. For a little added interest, before I did the ink blending, I added curved "stitched" lines to the panel with a tracing wheel (the kind sewists use to transfer pattern markings). I spritzed the panel with water droplets from a Distress sprayer, and blotted that up to create more of a "watery" look. I stamped my greeting in navy ink, making sure that the otter wouldn't obscure it when he is at the top of the slider track. I don't have any slider dies, so I drew the slider track with the help of my flexible ruler, and cut it with a craft knife. Before I assembled my slider, I laid my panel onto my A2 card base, & used that as a guide to glue the piece I'd just cut out in place on the front of the card base, so it would show through the track & the background would look at least a little more seamless. I used 2 washers instead of pennies for my slider. (And yes, I finally realized that they are more expensive than pennies! LOL) I punched a 5/8" circle from cardstock for each and glued those to the washers with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I glued one washer to the back of the otter, added 2 layers of foam tape, stuck that through the slider track, and adhered the other washer to the foam tape. I ended up using a triple thickness of foam tape on the back of the panel, being sure not to add any where the slider would go. Finally, I adhered the panel to my card base and glued down the starfish.

What a fun card! Thank you for such detailed instructions, I haven't made a slider card in such a long time, I'd like to try again too. I love your background, and the yellow stars are just so bright and happy. I'm sure your friend will be tickled to receive this card!
