This sketch had a lot of elements in it, but I managed to come up with a design that only excluded one of then (a diagonal ribbon going from the top to the left side of the card).
If you have been following my card gallery, you'll recognize the Ink Spritzer Background. I just love shades of teal and aqua, and created two of these specialty backgrounds for TSOT Challenge #335. Please visit Snowflake Holiday by donnaks at Splitcoaststampers for details on how the background was created.
The card base is the standard 8-1/2"x 5-1/2" Whisper White Thick Cardstock folded in half to create the A2 sized card.
On the front of this I glued the spritzed watercolor paper to start building my card. I ran a 3"x3-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock through my Big Shot using the "Softly Falling" embossing folder. This was also glued to the card front toward the top.
I used the SU Banners Framelits Die to cut a large banner out of Bermuda Bay cardstock and glued this down so it had equal margins on the sides and top.
The sentiment was stamped from the SU "Small Script" set onto a 2"x 1-1/2" of Whisper White whose corners had been rounded. This piece was then matted with a 2-3/8"x1-7/8" corner rounded piece of Island Indigo cardstock. These two were glued together, then mounted atop the banner with adhesive foam strips to raise it and give the card more depth.
Finally, I needed two sized snowflakes to carry over the feeling of snow from the embossing folder. I used the ArtC Snowflake stamp/cut/emboss set I found at Michaels. I didn't use the stamps, but instead used the emossing and outline cutting dies for the two sized flakes, and ran them through my Big Shot. They have just enough detail from the embossing die to give interest to the card, but not overwhelm it. These were attached with adhesive foam strips and Mini Glue Dots.
There's a lot of texture going on with this card: spritzed background, embossing folder, embossed snowflakes.
Thanks to Dawn for making this challenging sketch... it REALLY made me think!!!
