The technique challenge was to make our own plaid background. I always struggle with color matching choices, but I think these went together pretty well.

Oh, I think those colours make a great plaid, Kathy. They kind of remind me of a tartan skirt I had when I was about 5 or 6, one of the Stuart tartans, I think... Gives a great masculine feel to this. What a fun stamp, too. I think I've only had birthday cake once since my mother died, because I don't think making my own is the same. I'd love a happy cake day some time .

I love your wonderfully created plaid, and I love that you choice a simple image as not to distract from all the beautiful work you put in on this plaid pattern. Great color combos.
