This is for the Alphabet Challenge - Letter D – Detailed Floral dies, colors – Delightful Dijon, Dapper Denim, Dusty Durango and doing the Double Challenge – Different fold
I discovered these dies in my stash recently. I decided to use them for Letter D. Since I didnÂ’t have an idea to do, I went looking for examples. I was delighted in this one and it fit the Double Challenge for a different fold.
The bottom flap is glued down only on the sides to create a pocket to hold a gift card. (I used a Walmart one for an example.) The top half flips up for the message. Instead of ribbon tied around, I made a belly band with textured cardstock. I had a cancelled postage stamp in colors that blended nicely. I used a Midnight Muse adornment flower. Stamped “for you”. Used a clip to secure it. As on the original, I used a partial inlaid design changing the colors to ones that start with D. I think the colors make it a good one for an autumn birthday. I did not attach a sentiment for now. When I use this card, I can add one and enclose the appropriate gift card – Dairy Queen, DSW Shoes, Disney Store, Denny’s …. Don’t know yet. For the Alphabet Challenge you only need one thing for the letter; I do more because it’s fun.
Thanks Carol for sharing your card and inspiring mine. TFL

You surely got a lot of D's in it. If you had t already made Dani her birthday card this would add another letter D to it lol . However this is so elegantly gorgeous.

You have made a gorgeous card Diane based on your lovely inspiration card. Fun! I am so delighted by all the D's you have tucked into this wonderful card using these gorgeous dies and "different" fold. I also love how you used a belly band and this beautiful postage stamp. ~Karen.

Diane this is delightfully designed! Well done on all the Ds that you included. I would not have thought to use the detailed floral thinlits to make a gift card holder, thanks for the inspiration!

STRIKING card...OUTSTANDING color scheme! Love the overlaid open die-cut in navy with your brightly colored inlays. Sooooo pretty! Like the additional splash of red in your strips and the copper brown repeated in the sentiment tag and butterfly stamp!
