For Shirley's "Old Wood" challenge today, I didn't have any stamps that would work, so I made a panel of old weathered wood planks using the Faux Wood technique.
This card is for a friend at work who just passed his sixth Actuarial exam to become an Associate Actuary. The letters for this designation are ACAS. So I finally figured out what to do for Kelly's "Spell It Out" TLC challenge from Monday. I found a cool alphabet set that I had hanging around and stamped it in Potter's Clay. Then I traced over the outline with black pen. I felt it needed something else, so I stamped a bit of distressed background using the Canvas stamp. Lastly, I punched out some stars and coated them with Glossy Accents. When I stood up the card to look at it and decide if it was done, some of the Glossy Accents dripped down and off the card. If you look at the picture closely you can see the drips. LOL. Oops!

Jenn, great job on the faux wood, I was hoping to someone would do this. I love this technique, but I rarely do it. Your friend will love the card. Thanks, for joining us for the F4A challenge.

Neighbor, you did such a great job with the faux wood technique. I love the card, and can certainly overlook the oops! part. (We all do that sometimes!).
