Okay, I admit it. I had a card ready for this challenge and I was all set to upload it. I thought I'd check the challenge just one more time to make sure I did the right one. ACK! My card had balloons on it, but no sparkle!!!!!!!! ACK!!!!
Soooooo I frantically ran around and put this card together hoping to meet the deadline. And you know what? I loooooooooove this card! The gold balloons just scream elegance against that dark blue card base. There's just something about glittery gold and dark blue that is so timeless and perfect. How funny that those things that you don't plan turn out to be your favorites!!
I used watercolor paper for the sentiment because I wanted a stiffer paper for die cutting that elegant script. For the balloon strings, I used a white gel pen and just scribbled the strings at an angle so the balloons look like they are floating away. :-)

Haven't many of us been there at one time or another??....not reading the challenge completely before charging ahead. (Know I have) You remedied it in style with those gold glitter balloons. Surely a festive and elegant b'day card.
