Kelly - you have a wonderful gallery and it will take me days to look through it all - but for today, I decided to case this card or yours. I just love the complexity of the northern lights and that's what I used for my inspiration but pretty much changed everything else.
To begin I die cut the regal labels shape from glossy white cardstock, then started sponging in the colored streaks of light until I was satisfied with the blend. finished with succeedingly deeper shades of blue & edged in black. Stamped the trees & branches in black and embossed with black powder so as not to end up smudging anything.
The sprinkling of stars were added by loading an old toothbrush with Gesso and flicking across the piece for a soft random splatter and then sparyed with Blue Ice shimmer mist (very effective IRL but hard to capture in the photo.) I had originally die cut my fairy in black but she was totally lost against the black bg - since I still wanted her to be a subtle feature I cut another in dark blue and layered over the top so she's there but doesn't detract from my focal point which is the lights.
