I decided go with an old-fashioned Americana collection of colors for my card today. I sponged Riding Hood Red through a brick wall stencil and honestly, it looks more like pink than antique red. LOL! Instead of a bright brilliant blue, I used Not Quite Navy for that distressed blue color. And instead of a bright white card base, I used the off-white Naturals White cardstock. I love that cardstock and I need to find some more!

I love the look of your 'barely there' wall fading into nothingness. The red framing helps to keep it in the red family (not pink as you mentioned in your description)
