This was so much fun! I made a couple of different backgrounds practicing this technique...decided to go with this one and just stamped my image on top. I tried adding some black lines but didn't like how it looked so I covered those up with white acrylic paint and used an old gift card to apply that. I added some gold lines using a gel pen. One of the inks I used for the bg (IZink) is a sparkly gold which I really like and I think you can see it in the picture.

However you got to that BG, it's an absolute winner! (It sounds like my methodology - so many of my best BG's are the result of something I wasn't quite happpy with and just kept adding to until things resolved.)
And I love when you remind me that I have a stamp and never use it and WHY?
Great card!

I like the white lines! I would imagine that because it's such a large image, black lines in the rest of the background would have distracted from it while the white ones give a feeling of light.

Your bg is truly spectacular, Polly and makes a wonderful backdrop for the house and large, large tree silhouettes.....has the look of a Southern cottage.
