I was out of town when kellyjg hosted the TLC challenge of Flower pounding/pressing. So I'm making up for lost time.
I picked 2 colors of Hyacinths and violets from my garden and had the time of my life with pressing these 'juicy' flowers through my big kick on watercolor paper.
I was extremely pleased with the results even though it got real messy!! I made a bunch of these for future use. This particular panel has some remnants of flower petals and it has a wonderful organic look to it.
I made it into a bookmarker by adding purple CS that has a decorative corner punch to slide the flower panel corners into it. Punched a hole at the top, added ribbon & threaded glued 2 beads on the ribbon.
Embossed sentiment on die cut oval pink vellum and glued to book marker.
The diecut scalloped oval was attached to the dry embossed card base with mini brads, which holds the bookmarker in place. It slides nicely in and out!
This card will go to our book lover dear DIL for Mothers Day.
This technique is very dear to my heart; It's like immortalizing my flowers! Haha!
