Okay, so I have a weathervane cat stamp (doesn't everyone?) and decided to use it. Well, black ink didn't sound right so I used brown with rust embossing powder. It looked nice, but that created a big design challenge for me (aka, black ink only person).
I then decided to keep going with the brown, rust idea and instead of white paper, when to kraft card and envelop, with old newspaper print paper. (Which I had to distress on 2 sides to match the distressing on the 2 other sides because this was part of a 12x12 sheet... sigh) That in turn led to distressing the tag.
I liked the ribbon, but the twine seemed better. It wasn't until I put a couple of strands of twine over the ribbon that it seemed to fit better together.
Except then the lower left corner was bare... so decided that some hearts would work.
Other than having a cat, this card is about as far from my other cards as I could get. It's good though to try new styles, even if it causes me stress. LOL!

Fabulous job with the layout. Love the cute, country weather vane image, with a cat. Nice distressing. The ribbon & twine look great. Glad you ventured out from your comfort zone. You made a wonderful card and used the sketch very nicely. TFS

This is fun and no, I don't have a cat weather vane stamp! lol That said, I like what you did with it and your creative process for the card. Great job!
