I laid in the cloudy sky with my SU cloud template using several shades of bue chalks. Then stamped a forest of pine trees in 2 shades of green. I die cut the birch trees and used some watercolor to define the bark then mounted with foam tape. I needed to 'ground' my trees so cut several wavy borders in shades of green for the forest floor and added my computer generated sentiment. . . . I think the inside might read . . . or the cake for all the candles!

Cool card for this morning's challenge. I like your trees and forest and that inside saying would be so funny.

A very cute card and I have heard this saying. Your trees just made me think of another one about a bear. I have the perfect stamp for it, but no more time for card making today.
Have a great weekend. Hugs.

Your card is perfect for that old saying!! I love it and it seems like it would work for the MIX challenge today as well. Love the bg trees/forest and your birch are really pretty!! Great card! Thanks for playing!

What a great interpretation of the proverb with the leafy evergreens in the background and the bare birches in the front. Linda, this is a lovely scene!

What a pretty forest scene you created...using the die cut trees over the stamped trees really makes a wonderful 3d effect. Great idea for the saying inside.
