This is my sample for Lisa's WTUI "What The Doctor Ordered" challenge this week - you'll find the challenge post and all the details HERE.
I love this chicken stamp with his quizzical expression - I got it a few years ago when I set a chicken soup themed challenge for HYCCT. He's stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with pencils.
To add to the kitchen feel I used a gingham stamp from IO to stamp the next layer, adding the sentiment directly to it. Then I decided I'd like the larger format of a square card, so I stamped a white base with Linen in walnut stain, and then added two die-cut borders tucked under the gingham and stitched on. The main image is matted onto a scrap of coloured DP with distressed edges, and to finish off I added a fallen feather from my peaky bird. Some days you get chicken soup, some days it feels like you're the chicken in the soup!!!

I love the linen and gingham stamps I thought those were DPS until I read the description. Great way to show texture with stamps and add interest. That feather finishing touch is brilliant. I love that we both added gingham and colors our images with pencil this week. Thank you for creating this amazing sample card for my challenge.

Terrific get well card with a lot of "down home" charm, Sabrina. Your image is great and I like how you made the bowl look like spatterware. Sure to make the sick one smile.

Love the gingham and that wonderful die cut behind it, Sabrina. Yes, some days (even recently), I felt like the chicken in the soup. Ha
